Half of my inspiration comes from my surroundings - the noise and movement. The other half is me trying to keep up with it. To give it my voice. Plein air painting provides me and opportunity to collaborate with nature, but my objective is to make a painting. The subject becomes the catalyst to get me there. I very much enjoy and admire non-objective art, however, with the exception of my collages, I require a recognizable object, however vague, as a stimulant. I love the space it creates, and that it provides a place to rest your eye.
